Competition Basics
Each competitor has a 45 minute time-period where they are allotted 15 minutes for set-up, 15 minutes for performance and 15 minutes for clean-up of their station. Competitors will be judged by four Sensory Judges, two Technical Judges and on Head Judge. During their creative presentation, each competitor will serve the four sensory judges a single espresso, a single cappuccino and a signature beverage of choice (espresso-based and alcohol-free), for a total of twelve drinks, during a period of fifteen minutes. However, competitors may produce as many drinks as they like during the competition. Only the drinks served to the judges will be evaluated. Baristas are also judged on correct use of equipment, cleanliness and professionalism, and creativity.
