Our Ashbys® teas are packaged in 2lb bulk bags and start with the finest blend of pure black teas from China. All tea leaves come from the same plant, the Camellia Sinensis, but what makes the difference is how they are processed. To produce a black tea, any variety of Camellia Sinensis undergoes a multi-step process of withering, rolling, oxidation and firing. Black tea is the most popular type of tea and is more heavily processed and fully oxidized. A cup of black tea packs a huge punch with antioxidants and high caffeine levels.
