Commonly recognized as Blue Tea, our Butterfly Pea Inclusions is the dried flower and petals of the Clitoria ternatea plant. Caffeine-free, it can be used to make a naturally blue herbal tea. The blue infusion can change color to purple or pink when lemon, lime or other ingredients that change the pH are added. Slightly earthy and woody flavor, similar to a mild green tea.

Brewing Instructions 1-2 level tsp./ 6 oz serving
Steep 10-12 minutes
Water Temp 203-212° F
Ingredients Clitoria ternatea flower

About The Brand

James Ashby, a traditional family man, established the Ashbys® Tea firm in London in 1850. Importing and packaging only the highest quality teas from the most prestigious tea growing areas of the world, Ashbys® Tea has become a standard among fine English teas. Imported exclusively by Coffee Masters, Ashbys® Tea offers quality, freshness and packaging that reflects the heritage and reputation that the English have come to expect of a great tea.

Our Ashbys® Herbal Teas are packaged in 2lb bulk bags, often called tisanes, or simply herbals, these are non-Camellia sinensis botanical ingredients. While technically not a tea per se, fruit tea is an infusion drink, which means that the steeping water still absorbs the different flavors. To get the most flavor out of your herbal teas, make sure to steep for a minimum of 5 minutes.
